Latest update (26 June)
DFDS have now resumed its Copenhagen-Oslo service after a three-month pause. The two ro-pax cruise ferries serving the route now make a stopover in Frederikshavn after having been laid up in its homeport since mid-March.
Shippax and DFDS have closely monitored the COVID-19 pandemic since the outbreak and since we decided to postpone the conference. Most countries in Europe have meanwhile opened their borders with life slowly but surely moving to a somewhat more “normal” situation. This means that we and DFDS are confident that the Shippax Ferry Conference 2020 will not only be possible to be held between 30 September-2 October, but also that most delegates will actually be able to participate as most restrictions are expected to be lifted by then.
Having said this, the virus will still be there, and will likely also be so for quite some time, maybe even years. This is the new normal and we will simply have to live with this side by side the best we can in a safe manner. Life needs to go on and we cannot isolate ourselves forever!
Shippax and DFDS will follow strict measures on board to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and we will continuously monitor the situation and will, if necessary, adapt the areas to fulfil the necessary safety measures. We can assure you that we are doing our utmost to offer an as safe conference experience as possible for all delegates.
So, once again we would like to welcome all of our dear delegates on board PEARL SEAWAYS for the 2020 edition of the Shippax Ferry Conference. It has been far too long since we have all seen each other, and we are looking very much forward to delivering another first-class event of speaker sessions and networking opportunities for the benefit of the ferry industry.
See you all between 30 September-2 October, and until then we hope you will have a great summer!
All the best
The Shippax Team
